Alfred Jodl, he was the Chief of Operations for the German High Command. Jodl gave orders for the German army's campaign again Belgium, Norway, and Poland. He planned attacks on Greece and Yugoslavia. On May 7 1945 Jodl signed Germany’s surrender, which ended the war in Europe. He did not agree with Hitler’s orders. He learned what kind of man Hitler was by his actions. Hitler would make orders to do unnecessary attacks. Jodl strongly disagreed with his orders. Jodl was hung in Nuremberg on Oct. 16, 1946.

Tanner- What did you do in the war?
Alfred Jodl- I was Chief of Operations for the German High Command.
Tanner- Did you have to do anything that you didn’t want to do?
Alfred Jodl- Yes I did, Hitler once made an order for us to kill the men that escaped British planes.
Tanner- Was there anything that you could do to stop him?
Alfred Jodl- Yes there was, but if I were to speak out against Nazi German I would be killed.
Tanner- Why did you disagree with Hitler and his orders?
Alfred Jodl- I disagree with Hitler because of his horrible was of doing things.
Tanner- Did you know that what you were doing was bad?
Alfred Jodl- Yes I did know it was bad. I am a General and I follow the orders and not break them so I continued to listen to the harsh orders.
Tanner- You have been sentenced to death by hanging, do you think you deserve this?
Alfred Jodl- I do not agree, I think that it is far too much for my crime.
